Can I drive a salvage vehicle home?
A salvage vehicle CANNOT be driven legally on the roads until it is 'reconstructed'. Typically, the vehicle must be towed (towing is provided by Elite Auto Auctions) from the affiliate dealer's storage facility to your designated location. Next, the vehicle undergoes the 'reconstruction' process per your state's guidelines. Finally, once the 'reconstruction' process is complete, you can register and insure the vehicle to be driven on the roads.
Salvage vehicles are released by our affiliate dealers to designated storage locations, which usually are not accessible to the public for insurance reasons. Only an Elite Auto Auctions affiliated shipping/transportation company can enter these storage yards to load/unload the vehicle.
